Artificial Intelligence.  How does it affect us?  Everyday.  Everywhere.  Its around us.

From household devices such as refrigerators all the way to McDonalds ordering kiosks, some form of AI is being utilized today. Improvements in AI including more efficient algorithms such as A3C, are expanding the role of AI. Artificial intelligence is becoming ever present in our lives, pushing human intelligence to the brink.

But most importantly, how does it affect what I love……. Video Games.

 

I did a study on the impact of AI in the video game world, Utilizing AC3 Algorithm for the classic video game Pong.

The Asynchronous Actor-Critic Advantage algorithm, A3C, was released by DeepMind in June 2016 and instantly became mainstream. A3C was more efficient, and achieved better scores than DQN, the most widely used algorithm for video games at the time.

And the results???

Artificial Intelligence quickly surpassed the skill level of humans.  The amount of time for the AI to learn and the ability for the AI to have continuous learning without boredom, fatigue and distraction proves that AI has the ability to overtake humans over time.
